Add files to database function lets you easily add files to MP3Base Database
from hard drives, cd-rom's and networks using an intuitive and user-friendly interface.
It is possible to add files or directories seperately as well as whole mediums at once.
This function has a build in Artificial Intelligence module which recognizes the name of
the artist, the title of the song and some other parameters when the ID3 tag is missing.
As you can see, Mp3Base 3 is not restricted to a limited number of windows/lists
you can work in. Just like other professional applications, for example Microsoft Word,
you have a practically unlimited number of lists you can work in. These can be so called
system lists (lists generated by Mp3Base 3 with parameters that you have specified) or user
lists which you can create yourself. Adding files to user lists is made very easy using a
simple drag and drop interface.
This is the dialog which lets you choose the parameters to generate the list
you wish with. In the example situation you want to see all Trance and Techno
songs from the hard drive Red Star and cd-rom Backups 17.
This is the result of the parameter selection from the last image. If you
want to filter for specific songs you can use filter boxes on the top of the list.
To arrange the songs in the list on another manner than by artist name you can click
on the collumns on the top of the list.
This is the fastest and easiest way to find what you are looking for. By entering a couple
of keyword the program will search and generate a list with all occurences of this keywords
in the database.
This is the result of such a fast search. A fast search is completed as it's name
suggests FAST but therefore is less exact than parameter specified lists.
On the right side you can see the tag editor which lets you view the full song
information as well as change this. Changes made by the tag editor are saved into
database but also into the mp3 file itself if this is available.
If you have many songs where you want to specify some same parameters (for example
setting a whole collection to genre Techno) then you can use the built in Mass Re-tagger.
Same specifications apply to it as to the ID3 Tag editor on the right.
The selections you make when you choose to open parameter lists are being saved
into a quick-load menu. A simple click on this menu will load the list you choose.
This list is loaded by clicking on the parameter on the screenshot before.
Once a list is loaded you can choose to play seperate songs or whole lists using
your favourite music player. You can also do some other things including copying
files directly from Mp3Base to changable mediums, exporting lists etc.
This is a very handy feature which you won't find in any other program. You can specify a couple
of directories where the MP3 traffic is "Frequent", for example the download directories of P2P
programs like Kazaa or iMesh etc. MP3Base 3 will automatically update it's database content when
the content of the directories changes.
Ever had the problem of wanting to hear some music but not knowing what? Yet, still wanting to hear
the music you LIKE? And also, listening to music for a hour before you go out? VARP solves all of the
above problems! In VARP you can specify that you want to hear a certain number of songs, or even a certain
playlist LENGTH! So, if you want a list of an hour, you GET a list of an hour! Moreover, you can let VARP
take in consideration the song which you often listen to! These have more chance to get in the random list!
